Nroi Privacy Policy

When you use Nroi to upload 3:4 photos of vending machines, tag your favorite snacks, save location groups, and log purchases with our one-tap count feature, we only collect the information necessary to deliver and improve our service. This policy outlines what data we collect, how we use it, and how you control your information.

We built Nroi for snack enthusiasts, busy commuters, and anyone who loves documenting small daily joys - your personal vending machine finds stay private by default, always.

Data You Voluntarily Provide

• Vending machine logs: All 3:4 vertical photos you upload, custom snack/drink tags, location group names (subway stations, office buildings, malls, campuses etc.), and one-tap purchase count entries you create.
• Account information: If you create an optional registered account, we collect your chosen username and contact email (if you choose to provide it).
• Support communications: If you reach out to our team for help, we collect the content of your messages to resolve your request.

Automatically Collected Data

• App usage data: Anonymous information about how you interact with Nroi features (such as how often you use the group filter, upload photos, or log purchases) to help us optimize the user experience.
• Device information: Basic data including device type, operating system version, and app version to ensure Nroi works properly on your device.
• Optional location data: If you explicitly grant location permission, we collect approximate location data only to power our automatic group name suggestion feature. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings without impacting core app functionality.

• Deliver core Nroi features: Store your vending machine logs, display your entries in the 3:4 grid view, power group filter functionality, provide automatic group name suggestions based on your past logs, and sync your data across your devices if you have a registered account.
• Improve our service: Analyze anonymous usage patterns to fix bugs, optimize existing features, and develop new functionality that aligns with what our users find most useful.
• Support requests: Respond to any questions or issues you send to our team.
• Prevent abuse: Detect and block activity that violates our terms of service, to keep the Nroi platform safe for all users.

All your personal logs (photos, tags, location data, purchase counts) are private by default. We will never display your personal entries to other users unless you explicitly choose to enable optional sharing features we may release in the future.

We will never sell your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We only share your data in the following limited circumstances:

• Trusted service providers: We share necessary data with third-party service providers who help us operate Nroi (for example, secure cloud storage providers who host your log data). All providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to Nroi.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by applicable legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Nroi, our users, or the general public.

You have full control over all your personal data stored in Nroi, and can exercise the following rights at any time directly in the app settings, no support request required:

• Access: View all your saved vending machine logs, tags, and purchase history at any time.
• Edit: Update or modify tags, location group names, and purchase counts for any of your entries.
• Delete: Remove individual logs, or delete all your data at once by deleting your account. When you delete your account, all associated data (photos, logs, tags, purchase records) is permanently erased from our servers within 30 days, with no backups retained unless required by applicable law.
• Export: Download a full copy of all your personal data stored in Nroi in a machine-readable format.
• Permission control: Enable or disable location access, and adjust other privacy preferences directly in your device or app settings.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 encryption, and stored at rest with AES-256 encryption.
• We conduct regular security audits and update our security practices to address new vulnerabilities.
• Only a limited number of authorized Nroi team members have access to user data, and only for the purposes outlined in this policy.

While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your data, no internet-based service can guarantee 100% security. We will notify you promptly in the event of any data breach that impacts your personal information, as required by applicable law.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification at least 7 days before the new policy takes effect. Your continued use of Nroi after the new policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
